To be an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner, there are requirements for people at your company to have various certifications. The higher the level of partnership, the more certifications you need. As a result, your company will always want to make sure they are aware of any AWS certifications you have.
I have AWS certifications that were earned under my personal AWS Training and Certification account. I would like my company to benefit from these certifications from an AWS partner network (APN) perspective. So how do I link personal certifications into my company APN profile?
I actually searched around and found several articles and posts suggesting that you had to open a case with the APN team to have the accounts merged or the information transferred or somehow linked on the backend. Its actually much easier than that. Here is what you do:
- Log into your company APN account using your work email and normal professional APN credentials here.
- Click “View My Profile” in the menu at left, as shown below.
- Scroll down and you’ll find a section labeled “AWS Certification” as shown below.
- Where it says “AWS T&C Email” enter your personal email account that has your AWS certifications under it.
- Make sure you toggle that you consent to share your certification data
- Save settings
Give it a bit of time, and your certifications will be visible both in your personal AWS training and certification account, as well as via your work email APN account. This will allow your certifications to show up on your company APN “Scorecard” which is how these things are tracked from an AWS partnership level perspective.
I know this seems like an unnecessary tutorial, but after a few minutes of searching I was unable to find the answer and actually ended up creating a case. Hopefully I just saved you that effort. Cheers!

Far from being unnnecessary. Took me a few google search to land on this page and find out it was easier than contact my APN leader & the AWS support, etc.
Thanks a lot for your time !
Thanks man you saved my time!
Indeed a required tutorial, saved me a lot of time. Thanks!
No, I don’t think it’s unnecessary
Some things can be the most basic to someone, yet can be foreign to others.
I really appreciate this tutorial, thank you so much
+1 to this. A really helpful post.
Lifesaver. Took a lot of Googling and then I found this page. Helped me revoke a company’s access to my certs once I had left.
Thank you!
Not that basic and definitely saved a lot of my time. Cheers!
Super helpful. Thanks Rick…I am glad I googled “How To…” before searching within AWS, which would have sent me down a rabbit hole. Saved me a lot of time!
Does anybody know how much time it takes to show in the apn?
It seems like it takes about a day.
“Give it a bit of time”… thank you, this was the part I was missing.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
A follow up question – once the link is in place, If I register for aws certification exam with APN account (work email id), does that show up in personal email as well ? And does it stay in personal account after separation from company ?
Hi.. I’ve same question.. Did you find anything later? please share.
does the exam credit of 50% OFF we will get after clearing any AWS exam will also reflect after linking APN account to personal Account?
As the credit is in my APN account.
Please tell me about this
Hi thank you so much for this. I have one question (signing on a year after you posted!) Wouldn’t I have to populate the email with my work email after a while, if I’m to acquire AWS certs through work? Would the old cert persist or would it go away, do you think?
Thank you for the amazing article. I was able to link my personal certification account with APN partner central. But there’s one issue. My certifications are not showing up in the partner central. Suggestions are appreciated
How to remove a certificate from APN partner central.
OR
Adding certificate from on APN to another APN partner central
it shows my ceo`s name and apn email id not mine id & name
Thank You for this. I have a question, Does the certification I will be doing with my new VPC account will get linked with my personal account too. So that If I leave the AWS partner firm I still have the access to certification.
Have followed the same steps and its been 2 days but still certification hasnt appeared in partner site. How long does it take usualy?
Thank you so much for posting this!
Thanks Rick!
Thank you for the amazing article. I was able to link my personal certification account with APN partner central.
Thanks Rick, seems so simple once you know how it works 😉
How much time does it take for the certificate to appear? It has been two days.
Wow! Great! APN Portal only allows using business e-mail and I had made an AWS Certification from there! Now it seems possible to virtually merge the certification’s history. Thanks!
Hello,
i have got this
Update failed : Training and Certification Email already Registered with the different account.
same for me … did you resolve it ? and how is so ?
Same for me as well. What should be done. Please help
2023′ And this is still working great!
Thanks sir!
About how long is the “bit of time”?
I would like to know this too. I linked my email about a week ago and the certifications are still not showing up. Any advice?
Less than a week. It delays if the wrong email is supplied. In my case the AWS ID had one email for the account and another for notifications. The expected email is the email the you login with not necessarily where you receive notifications.
The only thing I do not understand is that in this way I can add anybody’s email in the AWS T&C section and then click “Yes” for the consent. In this way won’t I be able to see anybody’s certificates if I wanted to? Shouldn’t there be a consent/approval from the other account as well?
We were actually looking for this but there seems to be none.
Yes, I also have same question. @Stil, did you got the answer for this from anywhere else?
2024. And still this working. It’s really helpful.
Thanks for your time to write this for community.
“as well as via your work email APN account.” exactly what I was loking to confirm.
i.e., if I take exams going forward with the corporate email, will they still be mapped to my AWS ID? And will BOTH personal and corporate exams show up in APN? Will I be able to repeat this when I move to another organization.
